• POL provides an anti-tarnish film which helps protect the metal.
• If you intend to use the metal items immediately to serve food you should rinse them first. POL is non-toxic, however, it may leave a taste.
• If you intend to store or display the metal items don't rinse. The anti-tarnish film works best if not washed off. The items will remain polished longer.

Determine the type of metal.
Some items should not be polished, such as:

• Any item that has been lacquered.
  For example: lamps are commonly lacquered.
• Anodized aluminum (or eloxal aluminum). This is colored or coated aluminum found around windows and on cars.

POL will polish any metal that is intended to be polished, including exotic metals like Titanium, Niobiom, and Magnesium. POL is also an excellent polish for nambe ware.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply POL sparingly, rub briskly to remove tarnish, then polish to a high shine with 100% cotton cloth. If an artificial fiber cloth is used to polish an item the anti-tarnish film may leave a milky look on the metal surface. The 100% cotton removes the milky look quickly.
